Athletes For Charity

Dr. Jose Sulaiman

President
World Boxing Council

Dear Dr. Sulaiman:

Athletes for Charity would like to express our gratitude to the World Boxing Council for aligning various athletes affiliated with World Boxing Cares to host our 3rd annual “Back to School / Sports Day” at the Sports Museum of America in New York, NY on Saturday, August 30th, 2008. The free event benefitted approximately 100 foster care youth between the ages of 6 – 18 years. The event included free lunch, book bags filled with age appropriate back to school supplies, sports trivia prizes and an opportunity to visit the Sports Museum.

World Boxing Cares support of our event truly exemplified your commitment to the communityand your intent to bring a message of hope and inspiration to children. Each of your representatives was gracious enough to speak with the group of youth about their career paths in boxing and beyond, as well as stressing the importance of education, and signing of autographs.

We would also like to commend Ms. Jill Diamond for her invaluable assistance in organizing the speakers and her generous contribution towards the event including financial support and the distribution of World Boxing Cares t-shirts to our youth. We look forward to future opportunities for collaboration and helping to expose our youth to the disciplines of the sport of boxing.
