Dear Dr. Sulaiman:

Thank you and Jill Diamond so very much for the opportunity to go to England, so that Leon could receive his replica WBC Belt.

The belt is beautiful and Leon truly cherishes it.

We had a busy, but wonderful trip to England.   David Walker and his team   Mervyn Terner and John Murphy   did an excellent and very professional job of organizing our trip.  They all made sure that we were properly taken care of.  They put their heart and soul into making this eventful week a success.  It was certainly a pleasure working with them.

Thank you for approving the permission to go forward on this project.

During the 10 days of our visit to the UK, we had the opportunity to experience many exciting things.

1.            Leon made a guest appearance at the Milton Keynes MK Dons Football game.

2.            Leon made a cameo appearance in the taping of an upcoming movie “The Risen” about the life               of boxing champion   Howard Winstone.

3.            Leon visited   one of her majesty’s   prisons.

4.            Leon visited several boxing gyms.  All these gyms having programs designed primarily to help underprivileged children and the boys and girls of youth inclusion programs.

The inmates of the prison and the youth at the gyms were thrilled to meet the Champs.  Leon and Tim shared inspiring thoughts with them.  Advising them to do the best they could with their lives.  To stay out of trouble, stay off drugs, be strong and be the best they could be.

5.            Leon visited the hospital for the rehabilitation for the countries wounded soldiers.  He spent rewarding  time with these young men and women who risked their lives in combat.  It was heartbreaking  to actually see what these courageous people have gone through.  It was fulfilling to see how enlightening it was for these people to have the opportunity  to actually meet Leon & Tim Witherspoon along with a few other champions.

6.            Throughout our 10 day tour in the UK, Leon shared many of these boxing events

alongside other boxing greats:  Tim Witherspoon, John H. Stracey, Richie Woodhall, Brian London, Glenn Catley, Lloyd Honeyghan , Scott Welch, Eddie Avoth, Collin Jones   and   Kevin Hayde.

7.            Leon was in attendance with Tim Witherspoon and Richie Woodhall at a benefit boxing tournament   honoring the   Hero’s.

8.            Then the WBC Show, where Leon & Tim received their WBC Belts!  What a wonderful evening!

Leon and Tim were so delighted!  And   well deserved recognition was brought to these two outstanding World Heavy Weight Championship Boxers.  And in addition to that…funds were raised to benefit the Princess Trust for Disadvantaged Children.

9.            Besides the WBC Show, Leon was the guest of honor at two other very special benefit boxing banquets.  One in Wales and  the other in Doncaster, England.

10.          Leon, Tim and Richie were also honored guests at the SBSA (Royal marines) Benefit Banquet.  They stood beside many of elite and special service people of the armed forces in the UK.   Together, all there to raise money for the widows and families of the soldiers who died in combat.

We whole heartedly support the World Boxing Care Program for Disadvantaged Children   and the WBC Sporting Chances.   We fully support the great work the WBC team is providing.  We would like to become more involved and will gladly be willing to help in any way we can.

Again, Leon thanks you so much for the new WBC Belt and the opportunity for Leon to earn decent honorariums attending some of the events!  It is all a treasure to him.

Again, thank you for the opportunity to be able to go to England and experience these unforgettable heartwarming moments.  Being able to go out and do these things brought much joy to us.  Hopefully it gave inspiration to the youth and people of the country to have the chance to meet and be in touch with Leon and his outstanding boxing Champion colleagues.

Without you, the WBC and the teamwork of David Walker, Mervyn  Terner and John Murphy, we would have never been able to experience this wonderful inspiring trip to the UK.   You have our most sincere appreciation.   Thank you!

Also, congratulations on your 34 years of service with the WBC!

With Warmest Regards.

Brenda Glur   and Leon Spinks
